Circuit presentation
Travelling along the legendary National Route 7 means discovering Madagascar in all its diversity, from the cool hills of the Central Highlands to the sun-drenched coast of the Mozambique Channel. Each stop reveals a new facet of the island: delicate woodwork in Ambositra, the lush and mystical forest of Ranomafana, followed by the traditions of Ambalavao with its Antemoro paper workshops and vineyards. As the miles unfold, the scenery changes dramatically to give way to the spectacular canyons of Isalo National Park, before concluding peacefully on the coast of the Far South in Toliara.
Detailed program
DAY 1: Antananarivo – Antsirabe – Ambositra
Departure to Antsirabe – Arrival and city tour – Rickshaw ride – Continue to Ambositra – Visit to craft markets in Ambositra.
DAY 2: Ambositra – Antoetra
Departure to Antoetra – Trekking excursion to Zafimaniry villages (traditional homes built entirely of wood) – Picnic lunch.
DAY 3: Antoetra – Ranomafana
Departure to Ranomafana – Arrival – Night walk in Ranomafana (observation of Mouse Lemurs and Sportive Lemurs).
DAY 4: Ranomafana – Ambalavao
Excursion in Ranomafana National Park (Golden Bamboo Lemur, Greater Bamboo Lemur, giant bamboos) – Departure to Ambalavao – Arrival.
DAY 5: Ambalavao – Ranohira (Isalo)
Departure to Ranohira – Arrival in Ranohira.
DAY 6: Ranohira (Isalo)
Excursion in Isalo National Park (natural swimming pools, Ring-tailed Lemurs, Verreaux's Sifakas) – Picnic lunch.
DAY 7: Ranohira – Toliara – Ankasy
Departure to Ankasy – Arrival in Ankasy.
DAY 8: Ankasy
Beach relaxation – Discover the traditional lifestyle of Vezo fishing villages – Whale watching opportunities (July to September).
DAY 9: Ankasy – Toliara
Departure to Toliara – Visit to the Reniala Reserve – Arrival in Toliara – City tour (museum, craft market).
DAY 10: Toliara – Antananarivo
Departure to Antananarivo – Flight to Antananarivo (2h00) – Arrival in Antananarivo.
