Set out from Morondava to traverse the trails and rivers of western Madagascar all the way to Bekopaka, passing through the Avenue of the Baobabs—marking the start of an immersive 4×4 journey through unique, untamed landscapes. Then immerse yourself in the Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to explore an impressive labyrinth of limestone cathedrals and suspended walkways while discovering rare wildlife.
Detailed program
Day 1: Antananarivo – Morondava
Take the domestic flight from Antananarivo (1 hour and 10 minutes) to Morondava—tour the town and the Avenue of the Baobabs until sunset
Day 2: Morondava
Depart from the hotel very early in the morning—watch the sunrise along the Avenue of the Baobabs—visit the Zaza Malala Forest and its botanical garden—watch the sunset along the Avenue of the Baobabs.
Day 3: Morondava – Bekopaka
Depart from Morondava (about a 10-hour drive on dirt roads) — take the ferry across the Tsiribihina River — take the ferry across the Manambolo River.
Day 4: Bekopaka
Tour of the Grand Tsingy (see wildlife such as sifakas, various species of chameleons and geckos, and flora adapted to the rocky environment) — picnic lunch in Bemaraha National Park
Day 5: Bekopaka
Tour of the Little Tsingy—a trip in a traditional dugout canoe on the river through the Manambolo Gorges to see the Vazimba tombs as well as the local flora and fauna
Day 6: Bekopaka – Morondava
Departure from Bekopaka - Lunch in Tsiribihina – Visit the Baobab Alley and watch the sunset.
Day 7: Morondava – Antananarivo – Andasibe (Perinet)
Departure from Morondava – Flight (1 hour 10 minutes) – Arrival in Antananarivo – Transfer to Périnet (4 hours and 30 minutes by car) – Visit to the chameleon park (Peyrieras Reserve) – Night tour in Périnet
Day 8: Andasibe (Périnet) – Antananarivo
Visit to the lemur island – tour of Analamazaotra National Park – Lunch at a local restaurant – Return to Antananarivo
